Once on scene officers learned that Villalobos and the female victim were previously in a dating relationship. Villalobos recently returned to the victim’s residence unannounced and uninvited. The victim reported that yesterday, June 23, 2020, Villalobos became angry and violent towards the victim when she asked him to leave her residence. According to the victim, Villalobos pointed a gun at her head and threatened to kill her. The victim stated that Villalobos remained in the residence and would not let her leave.

This evening, June 24, 2020, the victim attempted to leave the residence. As the victim was opening the front door Villalobos struck the victim in the back of the head with a blunt object causing the victim to fall. Villalobos then attempted to stab the victim in the face with a knife causing lacerations to the victim’s hand and face. The victim was able to free herself from Villalobos and call for help. The victim’s injuries were non-life-threatening.

While officers were investigating the incident, Villalobos returned to the residence. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop and Villalobos refused to stop. Villalobos lead officers on a vehicle pursuit into the City of Reno. Officers attempted to use a slack pursuit technique hoping that Villalobos would slow down. Eventually Villalobos began driving in a manner that placed other motorists and pedestrians in danger, so officers ended the vehicle pursuit.
