Obstructing a Peace Officer

At approximately 0837 hours, Sparks Police Officers conducted subject stops on two individuals to the rear of 2125 Oddie Bl.  One of the subjects, later identified as Andre CLAIR, had initially refused to identify himself to officers and provided false information; CLAIR then fled from officers on foot.  The surrounding area was searched but CLAIR was not located.

At approximately 1057 hours, Sparks Police Officers conducted a premise check of 1515 Oddie Bl and located CLAIR.  Upon attempting contact with CLAIR, he refused to comply with verbal direction from officers and fled the area on foot.  Pursuing officers chased CLAIR into a nearby apartment complex in the 1100 block of 15th St.

Several witnesses informed officers a subject matching CLAIR’s description had made several attempts to gain entry into some of the residences within the complex during the foot pursuit, and it was later discovered CLAIR had unlawfully entered into a resident’s home during his attempt to evade officers.  CLAIR was located on the south east side of the complex and fled when contacted by officers.  After a brief foot pursuit, CLAIR was apprehended in the parking lot of the Sparks Library, 1125 12th St.

CLAIR and arresting officers sustained minor non-life threatening injuries.  CLAIR was treated on scene by REMSA prior to his transport to the Washoe County Detention Facility.

CLAIR possessed an outstanding warrant issued by the Department of Parole and Probation and was charged with 4 counts of obstructing-resisting an officer, and trespassing.
