***End of Update***

At 2:17 p.m., the Sparks Police Department received a report of a carjacking. A 75 year-old female had just parked her 2013 Maroon Nissan Altima with Nevada plate 92F424 in a parking space when she was approached by a black male adult. The suspect produced a handgun and demanded money and her car keys. The victim complied and noticed a child standing near the suspect. The child is described as a black female with her hair in pig tails and about 8 years of age. The child was wearing a dark yellow dress, and appeared scared.

Once the victim exited her vehicle the suspect instructed the child to get into the car. The suspect was last seen driving the victim’s vehicle north on Pyramid Highway.

The suspect is described as a 28 to 35-year old black male with a thin mustache and thin, 6 foot build. He was wearing a dark blue shirt with a Dallas Cowboys emblem on the front of the shirt and blue jeans.

The victim believed the child may have a relationship to the suspect based upon the interaction between the suspect and the child but that has not been established.

Anyone with information as to the identity of the child, the suspect or their location is asked to immediately contact the Sparks Police Department.
