Several witnesses to a vehicle rollover called 911 to report the accident. Officers arrived to find a black Ford Focus overturned and resting on the hood of the car in the westbound lanes of Disc Drive. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was located next to the vehicle suffering from a bloody head injury. The driver, nineteen year-old Trystan Mensler, was driving eastbound when it appeared he lost control while driving through a curve in the road.
Mensler's vehicle moved left off the roadway. The tires struck the median curbing causing the vehicle to launch in the air, overturn and land in the westbound lanes of traffic. Speed and the failure to wear a safety belt are suspected.
Mensler was transported by ambulance to Renown Medical Center where he underwent treatment for non-life threatening injuries. The collision is still under investigation.
