Bike Unit

The Bike Unit is comprised of officers who are specially trained in the use of mountain bikes for specialized patrol. The unit is primarily used during special events in the downtown corridor or Sparks Marina Park. The bicycles allow for a quick response during the crowded events and allow more interaction with the public. The bicycles are also utilized in specific high crime areas to address current crime trends or criminal activity. Their maneuverability allows them to quickly cover areas without the presence of a marked patrol vehicle.
