HIDTA – High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area

The Sparks Police Department participates in several task forces including the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA Task Force).  One Sparks Police detective is assigned to this task force. The focus of the HIDTA Task Force is to reduce drug availability by disrupting or dismantling drug trafficking organizations. Their goal is to reduce the amount of illegal drugs manufactured and distributed through interdiction functions.
