Vehicle vs. Pedestrian Accident

On December 2nd, 2017, at approximately 12:17pm, Officers responded to Pyramid Highway and E Street for an accident involving a vehicle striking a pedestrian.  An accident investigation showed that an adult male victim was crossing Pyramid Highway at E Street in the crosswalk.  The driver of a full sized pickup truck was southbound on Pyramid Highway, did not see the pedestrian, and struck him with the front of his vehicle.  There was no indication that the driver was impaired or speeding, just did not see the pedestrian.  Several witnesses provided cooperating statements.  The pedestrian was thrown several feet, transported to the hospital, and sustained non-life-threatening injuries.  Driver was cited for a Right of Way violation.
