Vehicle vs Pedestrian Accident

The Sparks Police Department responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash at E. Prater Way and I St. The victim, a juvenile, was crossing E. Prater Way in a marked crosswalk. The striking vehicle was making a left hand turn off of I St. onto E. Prater Way and struck the victim in the crosswalk. The victim sustained none life threatening injuries as a result of the crash and was transported by REMSA to be treated. The driver of the striking vehicle remained on scene and cooperated during the investigation. Speed and impairment were not a factor, the driver of the striking vehicle was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
