Battery with a Deadly Weapon

At about 1647 hours on 4/9/2021, Sparks Police Officers responded to the 1400 block of Vista del Rancho Parkway for multiple reports of shots fired in an apartment complex. Officers arrived and began to search the complex. Officers located one male juvenile with a superficial, non-life threatening wound from an apparent gun shot. Officers searched the complex and surrounding areas but were unable to locate the suspect.

After further investigation, Officers learned that the suspect had possibly been in an altercation with several subjects in the complex. The suspect retrieved a handgun from inside a residence and fired several rounds, striking the juvenile. The suspect then fled from the area and has not been located.

The investigation is ongoing, but the Sparks Police Department does not believe that there is an immediate threat to the public. If anyone has any information regarding this incident, please contact the Sparks Police Department at (775) 353-2231 or Secret Witness.
